Tattoos and Art by David Bruehl
POW Praying Hands
2006
The client on this piece wanted a pair of praying hands on his upper arm and used the dog tags to honor POWs and those who had fallen.

I try to take opportunities with tattoos that are commonly done to approach them in a unique manner. With this piece, I used a bold traditional outline on the outer contour of the hands and used just a shader for all interior details, treating them with a full value scale to result in a very bold set of praying hands.
